Cultural Excursions from Sierpe
(Spheres, Boruca Indigenous Village & More)
Sierpe de Osa is full of cultural experiences! We are home to the Sphere Museum (an UNESCO World Heritage Site) along with several other nearby archaeological sites like ‘El Silencio’ which is home to the largest sphere found to date in Costa Rica and the ‘Parque de Esferas’ in Palmar Sur. The Boruca village is only about 1 hour away where visitors can have a traditional lunch, take part in making a mini mask or buy a beautiful professionally made mask, which is a wonderful work of art to take home (and very light weight). We would love to customize the day for you.
Here are some ideas for private tours for you and your family or group:
Full Day in Boruca: Private Guided day tour with visit to the local Boruca Museum, traditional lunch, mask making workshop (watch carving and a mini mask to paint on your own), traditional dye and fabric weaving demonstration, informative talks and time to shop for unique handmade souvenirs (masks, jewelry, and other hand painted works of art).
