How to Get to Sierpe

If you will not have a car, it will be necessary to stay in Sierpe the night before your tour or we can offer private shuttle transportation from Manuel Antonio, Dominical, Uvita or Ojochal at additional cost. Please inquire with us.

Driving Directions:

Continue south from Quepos / Dominical / Uvita / Ojochal to Palmar Norte along the Costanera Highway Route 34:

You will arrive in Palmar and will know it because the road you are on merges into another 2 lane road a T and Y intersection...  (there is a big gas station on the left at the intersection, and a big BM grocery store on the left just before the gas station) and there will be the little town of Palmar Norte on your left and big metal bridge (biggest you have seen thus far on the coastal highway) straight ahead of you crossing the Terraba River. Go over this big bridge...

Take an immediate right as soon as the wheels of your car leave the bridge. There is a HUGE sign for Sierpe there...

Stay on the paved road for 17kms (20 minutes from Palmar) - there are several 90 degree turns in the road.. Just stay on pavement no matter what your GPS says.

The road literally dead ends in Sierpe. You will drive along a long straight stretch with many houses and at some point there will be a sidewalk on the right side of the road.. you will almost be in central Sierpe... continue straight, around a gentle curve, the river will be on the left....

Our tours usually depart from the dock behind the Las Vegas Restaurant:

Pass the park on your left (has a gazebo in the middle and a large stone sphere in the park) and turn left at the far park corner and then the Las Vegas Restaurant will be directly in front of you slightly to the right, on the river side, diagonal from the park. Your guide will be there to greet you and help you get parked. Please do not park right in front of the restaurant. Please park anywhere along the street you can find space. The parking spaces directly in front of the restaurant are for their customers.

NOTE about GPS: I highly recommend that if you have smartphone that you download the app called 'WAZE' prior to arriving in Costa Rica and get it set up (minimal verification process required). You can connect to WiFi anywhere in Costa Rica and turn on the GPS / location setting on your phone (even while in airplane mode) and load the route while connected to Wifi and then while driving, if you do not have roaming data on the phone, it will still navigate you using GPS. It just will not reroute you. I do recommend you add international calling and data if you can. Just makes life easier.

On Waze, just put in Las Vegas Bar and Restaurant (it will come up with the address as Boulevard Villalobos, Sierpe). NO ONE will recognize this as an address except waze! Do not look for street signs as there are none. Please DO NOT put in Sierpe Outfitters as the destination in your GPS, put in Las Vegas Restaurant as that is where the boats depart from.
